Transhumance is the seasonal movement
of livestock to locations that provide
better pasture for part of the year

It is customary in mountainous places and its practice is very old throughout all rural Europe. In the Provence region in France, the traditional "Fête de la transhumance" is held annually on the Monday of Pentecost, when thousands of sheep begin their movements by the valleys of the Alpine regions, with their pastures
rich in nutrients

This technique has been used since the twelfth century in the Provence region, which gives the inspiration for the Provence doors
in the Charm Collection.
